Scindia Inaugurates Bengaluru's VTU-VRIF-TCOE Centre of Excellence

Union Minister of Communications and DONER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, today inaugurated the VTU-VRIF-TCOE Hub and Spoke Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru—a joint initiative by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), the Visvesvaraya Research and Innovation Foundation (VRIF), and Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) India.

The Centre is designed to foster a dynamic innovation ecosystem focused on next-generation technologies such as 5G/6G communications, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), AR/VR, quantum computing, and healthcare tech.

Positioned as a launchpad for deep-tech research and startup incubation, the CoE is built on a strong academia-industry collaboration model. It has already onboarded over 20 startups and 30 academic institutions, with backing from technology leaders including Keysight Technologies, QpiAI, and Televerge.

Skill development at the Centre will be led by the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC). Speaking at the event, Minister Scindia credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating, “PM Modi has fundamentally redefined the role of government—from that of a regulator to a facilitator.”
