Sarnath's ₹104.69 Crore Leap: Elevated Road Project Begins

The Rs 104.69 crore Sarnath elevated road project is scheduled to begin in April, improving connectivity between Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya on Ring Road and Sarnath Railway Station.

The Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (UPSBC) will oversee the project, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance accessibility for both tourists and locals traveling to Sarnath.

Spanning 1.18 km, the four-lane elevated road will replace the current narrow two-lane route, which often faces heavy traffic congestion. The state government has approved the initiative and released the first tranche of funding.

Built under the EPC model, the construction will meet stringent quality standards. The project is expected to be completed within two years, offering a major upgrade to Varanasi’s transportation infrastructure.
