₹578 Crore Rajgir Highway: Vijai Construction is L1 Bidder

Vijai Construction (India) has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for the construction of a greenfield four-lane highway under the ‘Tourist Way of Rajgir’ initiative, aimed at strengthening connectivity to the Buddhist tourism circuit in Bihar.

The proposed highway will span 27.180 km, linking Salepur to Rajgir via Noorsarai, Ahiyapur, and Silao along National Highway-82, in the Nalanda district—a region of profound historical and religious significance.

The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract, floated by the Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam, is valued at ₹578.11 crore.

This strategic infrastructure project aligns with the state government’s vision to develop Nalanda as a key destination in India’s Buddhist circuit, while also enhancing regional connectivity and promoting tourism-driven economic growth.
