The Karnataka Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has approved the second phase of the Quantum Research Park in Bengaluru. This landmark initiative will be developed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
Announcing the decision on Thursday, Priyank Kharge—Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology—revealed that the park will be established on the IISc campus with an allocation of ₹48 crore.
Minister Kharge emphasized the project's transformative impact, noting that it will support the creation of cutting-edge infrastructure, strengthen research and development capabilities, and help cultivate a highly skilled, quantum-ready workforce.
The Quantum Research Park is designed to offer shared access to advanced laboratories and research equipment. It will serve as a collaborative platform for academia, start-ups, and industry, driving innovation in next-generation quantum technologies and positioning Bengaluru as a global hub for quantum research and development.
