The Union Railway Ministry has granted in-principle approval for the long-awaited Ramagundam–Manthani railway line, bringing major relief to residents of Peddapalli district.
MP Gaddam Vamshi Krishna has been recognised for resolving the region’s long-pending railway concerns. The proposed line will provide significant convenience to the thousands of pilgrims who travel to the Sammakka–Sarakka tribal festivals in Medaram, offering dedicated connectivity for devotees heading toward Manthani and Medaram. Calling the approval a historic milestone, Vamshi Krishna confirmed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed. The project, estimated at ₹4,000 crore, is expected to commence construction soon.
The new railway corridor will also support Singareni workers and improve overall regional transportation, helping stimulate the local economy. Vamshi Krishna noted that the project aligns with his broader mission to transform the Peddapalli constituency—long overlooked—through enhanced infrastructure, including better roads and upgraded railway facilities.
