The long-awaited Ratu Road flyover in Ranchi, Jharkhand, is set to be inaugurated on July 3, 2025. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will officiate the ceremony and address a public gathering at OTC Ground in Piska More the same day.
The 4.18-kilometre, four-lane flyover, constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) since 2021, is now complete. Designed to alleviate chronic traffic congestion along the Kutchery–Ratu Road corridor, the flyover is expected to reduce travel time from over 30 minutes to just 10 minutes.
In preparation for the inauguration, traffic cones have been placed from Kutchery Chowk to guide the flow of vehicles toward the elevated route. The project is anticipated to benefit not only Ranchi residents but also commuters traveling to and from Gumla and Daltonganj.
Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth has also proposed utilizing the space beneath the flyover as a play area to help address the city’s lack of recreational facilities for children.
