Powering Up Gujarat: Mecpower’s ₹160 Cr BESS Storage Leap

Mecpower Solutions, a leading renewable energy infrastructure company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to establish a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly facility in Karjan. Representing an investment of approximately ₹160 crore, this flagship project aims to bolster India’s domestic energy storage manufacturing capabilities and accelerate the nationwide transition toward clean energy.

The upcoming facility will play a pivotal role in expanding India's BESS capacity—an essential component for seamless renewable energy integration, grid stability, and continuous power supply. This initiative underscores Mecpower Solutions’ commitment to building advanced infrastructure for next-generation energy technologies, supporting sustainable industrial growth, and driving India’s vision of self-reliance in clean energy.
