Pandian Chemicals: ₹48 Cr Expansion Fuels Growth

Pandian Chemicals Limited (PCL), a leading private perchlorates manufacturer based in Madurai, has inaugurated its third production facility in Tamil Nadu at the SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Thervoy Kandigai, near Chennai.

Formerly a joint sector enterprise with the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, PCL is India’s largest producer of potassium chlorate, a key raw material for the safety match industry. The company also manufactures various perchlorates, including ammonium perchlorate (APC), an essential component used in solid fuel motors for defence missiles.

To meet growing domestic and global demand for APC, PCL has invested ₹48 crore in the new facility, which has an installed capacity of 40 metric tonnes per month and the potential to double output in the future, the company said in a release.
