Projects & Development India Ltd. (PDIL) has extended the deadline for submission of bids to 23 June 2025 for the nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plant being developed in Jharsuguda, Odisha by Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals. This is the seventh extension of the tender, which was initially due on 12 September 2024.
The plant will utilize coal gasification technology and is being developed by Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals, a joint venture between Coal India Ltd. (CIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL).
PDIL, acting on behalf of the joint venture, issued the tender on 14 June 2024 to appoint a Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) contractor. The scope of work includes:
Supply of process license
Basic and detailed engineering
Procurement, construction, and commissioning
Operations and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 120 months
Complete project management
Final handover of the plant and all associated facilities
