NHPC Powers Up Rajasthan: Karnisar Solar Hits 160MW!

On June 7, 2025, NHPC commenced commercial operations of the third phase (53.57 MW) of its 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Following successful trials conducted on June 5, the total operational capacity at the site has now reached 160.71 MW.

In line with its renewable energy ambitions, NHPC also announced plans to raise up to ₹2,000 crore through a private bond placement. The funds will support the company’s broader strategy to expand its green energy portfolio.

“The commissioning of Phase-III marks a major milestone in our solar journey,” the company stated, reaffirming its commitment to diversifying beyond hydropower into sustainable energy solutions.
