Megha Engineering & Infrastructure has been declared the lowest (L1) bidder for a major infrastructure project in Thane district, Maharashtra, involving the construction of a 5.5 km underground tunnel from Gaimukh to Fountain Hotel Junction along Thane Ghodbunder Road, as well as an elevated road from Fountain Hotel Junction to Bhayander.
The project, commissioned by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), includes the design and execution of both the tunnel and elevated road. The tender was floated in July 2024, and technical bids were opened in January 2025, with five firms participating in the bidding process.
Megha Engineering submitted a bid of ₹9,019.53 crore for the tunnel component and ₹6,163.34 crore for the elevated road.
The construction timeline for each component is set at 54 months, which includes time for obtaining necessary environmental and statutory clearances, as well as allowance for monsoon delays. A 24-month defect liability period (DLP) will follow the completion of construction.
