BMW Industries & Tata Steel: A $360 Crore Coil-to-Tube Partnership

BMW Industries and its wholly-owned subsidiary, BMW Iron & Steel Industries, have secured a contract from Tata Steel for the conversion of hot rolled (HR) coils into tubes.

The work will be carried out at BMW Industries' Hazibagan facility in Howrah and BMW Iron & Steel’s plant in Jamshedpur. The contract, valued at ₹188.60 crore for BMW Industries and ₹176.09 crore for BMW Iron & Steel, is valid until October 31, 2027. Both companies will execute the contract using their existing infrastructure, leveraging this opportunity to improve operational efficiency and maintain business momentum through FY27.

In parallel, BMW Industries is advancing the development of its ₹803.47 crore greenfield downstream steel complex in Bokaro. This facility will produce high-grade specialty steel, including coated and Al-Zn coated (Galvalume) products, to serve both domestic and international markets. The Bokaro project is a strategic initiative aimed at expanding the company’s capacity and strengthening its position in the value-added steel segment.
