The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has floated a tender for the improvement and widening of National Highway-127B in Meghalaya to a two-lane configuration with paved shoulders.
Valued at ₹366.46 crore, the project will be implemented on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis, covering a 31.5 km stretch (km 0.000 to km 31.500) under the North East Road Network Connectivity Improvement Project, funded through JICA ODA Loan Phase-VII.
The scope includes:
Detailed design and construction, Testing and commissioning, Installation of drainage systems, road safety features, and associated infrastructure
The project has a completion timeline of 24 months, followed by a five-year maintenance period to ensure long-term durability and service quality.
Once completed, the upgraded NH-127B is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between key towns and border areas, improving both passenger and freight transport efficiency across the region.
