Maharashtra Greenlights Tribal Industrial Cluster in Nashik

On June 17, 2025, the Maharashtra State Cabinet approved the transfer of 29.5 hectares of government land to the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for the development of a tribal industrial cluster at Jambutke in Dindori taluka, Nashik district.

Originally announced in the 2022–23 state budget by Finance Minister Ajit Pawar with an allocation of ₹25 crore, the project had faced delays due to incomplete land transfer procedures. Although the state’s high-power committee cleared the land notification in May 2022, the formal handover to MIDC had stalled.

To resolve the issue, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule held a meeting in February 2025 with officials from the state industry department and MIDC. He directed MIDC to submit a formal proposal, which was subsequently processed by the revenue department and forwarded to the Cabinet.

With the Cabinet’s approval now in place, the project is expected to gain momentum. The tribal industrial cluster will offer industrial plots to tribal entrepreneurs, support the establishment of manufacturing units, and create employment opportunities for local youth in the region.
