Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for an ₹800 crore water supply project in Indore on January 14, 2026, at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium.
The project, being implemented under the AMRUT 2.0 Indore Water Supply Scheme, aims to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water to the city’s rapidly growing population. Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav reiterated the government’s commitment to providing clean water to every village and city under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He stated that, with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and full support from the state government, Indore is progressing steadily towards self-reliance. Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat also highlighted the effective implementation of the Prime Minister’s vision in Madhya Pradesh under Chief Minister Yadav’s leadership.
Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for prioritising the city’s long-term water requirements and announced the expansion of the project’s overall scope to ₹2,400 crore. The initiative will include advanced infrastructure such as a modern water treatment plant and dedicated power substations, ensuring an uninterrupted and sustainable water supply for decades to come.
