India's Largest Single-Site EV Charging Hub to Rise in Kolkata

India’s largest single-site electric vehicle (EV) charging hub is set to come up in Thakurpukur, South Kolkata, announced Ashhok Kapoor, Managing Director of EzUrja, the company spearheading the project.

Planned to house 300 charging stations, the facility will become the second-largest EV charging hub globally—just behind China's leading site, which features 650 chargers in one location.

The hub will be developed on nearly two acres of land previously occupied by a defunct Andrew Yule & Co. plant. According to Kapoor, the project marks a major step forward in enhancing EV infrastructure in the region and aligns with India’s broader commitment to sustainable transportation and clean energy.
