India's Inaugural Private Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Opens in Gujarat

The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has launched the country’s first private Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) near Surat, Gujarat, along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

Spread across approximately 120 acres, the New Sanjali Terminal has been developed by the Sawariya Shakti Group on privately owned land under Schedule-1 of the GCT policy, which promotes private sector participation in logistics infrastructure. Strategically positioned, the terminal provides seamless connectivity to key industrial areas including Panoli GIDC, Ankleshwar, and Jhagadia, as well as major ports such as Dahej, Hazira, and JNPT, significantly enhancing both regional and national trade.

The terminal enjoys direct access to National Highway-48 and National Expressway-4, and is located just six kilometers from the upcoming Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP).

Key infrastructure includes two integrated rail lines jointly operated by DFCCIL and Indian Railways, a 28-acre Inland Container Depot (ICD), and 650,000 sq. ft. of warehousing space. These facilities are equipped with bonded storage, PESO-certified zones, and cold chain logistics, positioning the terminal as a critical hub for efficient freight movement across India.
