Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) has secured a major infrastructure contract worth approximately ₹2,917.6 crore from City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) for a large-scale water supply project in Maharashtra.
The contract has been awarded to the LCESPL-HCC joint venture, with HCC’s share valued at around ₹1,100 crore. The project includes the construction of a 22.21-km raw water tunnel and a 250 million litres per day (MLD) water treatment plant in Raigad district.
The scope of work involves designing and constructing an underground tunnel using Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) technology to transport water from Kondhane Dam in Village Chochi, Karjat, to a proposed treatment facility at Village Mohope in Panvel. It also covers the design, build, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the water treatment plant.
Additionally, the contract includes 15 years of operation and maintenance under a Design, Build and Operate (DBO) model.
The project forms part of CIDCO’s broader strategy to strengthen long-term water infrastructure across the rapidly expanding nodes of Navi Mumbai and surrounding regions, ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply to support urban and industrial growth.
