Drone manufacturing startup BonV Aero has commenced construction of a ₹300 crore unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) facility in Khordha, Odisha, marking a significant step toward strengthening domestic drone manufacturing and aerospace innovation.
Spread across 2.5 acres, the facility is being developed as an integrated UAV hub, featuring assembly lines, a Drone Centre of Excellence (CoE), an industrial skilling centre, and Odisha’s first dedicated drone park for testing. It will also include an experience centre and a Remote Pilot Training Organisation for certifying drone operators.
The project is expected to generate over 1,000 employment opportunities within two years while integrating local MSMEs into the supply chain. During the groundbreaking ceremony, the company showcased three drone platforms designed for defence, logistics, and infrastructure applications, including operations in GPS-denied environments.
Co-Founder and CEO Satyabrata Satapathy highlighted the role of Odisha’s youth in advancing the state’s position in the global UAV ecosystem. The company also noted that supportive state policies, particularly in aerospace and defence manufacturing, have been instrumental in establishing the facility.
