Goyal Pledges Full Funding for Advanced MedTech Testing Labs in India

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has pledged comprehensive government financial backing to establish advanced testing laboratories across India for medical equipment and machinery.

Speaking at the Pharma MachTech and LabNext Expo 2026, organized by EEPC India, the Minister challenged industry stakeholders to build a robust domestic component ecosystem anchored in rigorous quality, global compliance, and international benchmarking. This proposed testing framework is designed to elevate quality assurance and fast-track India’s self-reliance in medical device manufacturing. Furthermore, Minister Goyal encouraged the medtech sector to drive innovation via cross-border technology alliances and overseas joint R&D ventures.

These strategic initiatives collectively aim to fortify India’s domestic manufacturing capacity, elevate technological sophistication, and accelerate integration into the global medical technology market.
