GMDA has revived the long-pending redevelopment of Gurugram’s Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), inviting bids for a consultant to prepare a DPR for the proposed elevated corridor between Ghata Chowk and Vatika Chowk. The 12-km signal-free corridor aims to improve connectivity between key road networks, including NH-8, Sohna Road, Dwarka Expressway, and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Despite multiple design revisions, cost escalations, and approvals over the past seven years, construction has not yet begun, with residents continuing to face severe traffic congestion along the busy corridor.
