GM Verma Boosts USBRL: High-Stakes Kashmir Rail Inspection

Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager of Northern Railway, conducted an inspection of the Srinagar–Baramulla section of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project on 20 November 2025.

Joined by senior railway officials, he reviewed ongoing construction work, safety measures, and passenger amenities across nearly 60 km of stations between Srinagar and Baramulla. Verma stressed the need to uphold strict safety and quality standards while accelerating progress on this strategic national project. The team also inspected the Anantnag Goods Terminal, an essential hub in Kashmir’s freight movement.

He urged project teams to adhere to timelines and maintain close supervision of all activities. The inspection highlights the USBRL’s pivotal role in enhancing regional connectivity and driving economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
