Hydrogen is taking the wheel in India's next mobility chapter. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that the government is currently running hydrogen-powered transit trials across 10 major highway corridors—including heavily traveled routes like Pune-Mumbai and Greater Noida-Delhi-Agra.
With the domestic auto industry making fast progress in biofuels and alternative energy, Gadkari believes India is on track to become a global hub for low-cost, innovative transport. He urged manufacturers to rapidly adopt these advanced systems without compromising on passenger safety or comfort, framing the hydrogen trials as a vital step toward eliminating fossil fuel dependence and scaling a sustainable transport network.
