Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, laid the foundation stone on June 8, 2025, for a major industrial unit of Dhunseri Poly Films in Kathua district. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Dhunseri Ventures, the company—established in November 2020—specializes in manufacturing polyester films.
The new facility is being developed with an investment of ₹1,240 crore and is projected to create significant employment opportunities for the local population. According to the LG, the project will be executed in two phases. “Kathua district is one of the best places for investors. Such investments will open up new job opportunities for the youth,” he said during the ceremony.
This initiative is part of the Union Territory’s broader strategy to attract private investment and drive industrial growth, with increasing interest from business groups across sectors.
