DCM Shriram Goes Greener with ₹217 Cr Investment

DCM Shriram Limited has approved an investment of ₹217 crore to expand renewable energy capacity at its Bharuch plant, reinforcing the company’s focus on sustainable operations.

The company’s Board has approved up to ₹87 crore in equity investment in one or more Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to acquire a minimum 26% stake, along with ₹130 crore in capital expenditure for related infrastructure.

The investment will add approximately 48 MW of renewable energy capacity, including about 30 MW available round-the-clock at a 75% capacity utilisation factor. With this addition, the Bharuch facility’s total renewable energy capacity will increase from 50.4 MW peak to 98.4 MW.

The project is expected to be completed by June 2027 and will support the company’s energy requirements while strengthening its renewable power portfolio.

The Board’s approval highlights DCM Shriram’s continued commitment to renewable energy adoption, energy efficiency, and long-term operational sustainability.
