Ambuja Cements, part of the Adani Group’s cement and building materials portfolio, reported an installed capacity of 109 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) at the end of Q4 FY26.
This capacity expansion was supported by the commissioning of a 3 MTPA clinker line at Jodhpur and the start of trial operations for a 1.2 MTPA grinding unit at Dahej (GU Line 2). The company has outlined a phased expansion roadmap, with multiple projects scheduled for commissioning in the first half of FY27.
Planned additions include grinding capacities at Dahej (1.2 MTPA), Bathinda (1.2 MTPA), Salai Banwa (2.4 MTPA), Kalamboli (1 MTPA), Jodhpur (2 MTPA), Warisaliganj (2.4 MTPA), and a new clinker unit at Maratha (4 MTPA). With these expansions, total capacity is expected to reach 119 MTPA by October 2027.
Ambuja Cements stated that its expansion strategy is being recalibrated in response to changes in railway policies related to bulk cement terminals. The company is focusing on phased capacity additions aligned with optimal utilisation levels, while maintaining disciplined capital allocation and improving return on capital employed.
Capital expenditure for FY26 stood at around ₹7,500 crore, with FY27 capex guidance estimated at ₹6,000–6,500 crore, depending on macroeconomic conditions.
