CM Mohan Majhi Inaugurates Strategic Infocity–Ekamra Kanan Road

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has inaugurated the Infocity–Ekamra Kanan Road and launched two major transportation infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and decongesting traffic in Bhubaneswar.

The newly opened road corridor provides a strategic alternative route connecting Infocity with the city's existing road network through Salia Sahi and Hatiasuni. The project was enabled through an extensive land recovery initiative that cleared encroachments and reclaimed nearly 800 metres of government land in the Salia Sahi area.

Developed with a width of 60 metres (around 200 feet), the road forms part of a larger 13-km continuous corridor that is expected to enhance east-west connectivity across the city. The new route is anticipated to significantly reduce traffic load on National Highway-16, a critical transportation corridor linking Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and carrying heavy daily traffic volumes.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Jayadev Vihar–Nandankanan corridor and the construction of a flyover along the busy stretch. These projects are intended to improve traffic flow, reduce travel times and accommodate growing vehicular movement in one of the city's most important urban corridors.

Together, the initiatives represent a significant step in strengthening Bhubaneswar’s urban transport infrastructure. The projects are expected to improve mobility, enhance road safety and support the city's long-term economic and urban development objectives while creating a more efficient transportation network for residents and commuters.
