Pratap Technocrats has announced its entry into the green energy sector after securing a ₹776.13 crore contract from NTPC Limited for the deployment of a 570 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
Under the agreement, the company will install a 320 MWh BESS at NTPC’s Gadarwara power plant and a 250 MWh system at the Khargone plant.
Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Chairman of Pratap Technocrats, described the contract as a significant milestone for the company. “This project reflects the trust placed in our execution capabilities and strengthens our role in supporting India’s transition towards resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure,” he said.
The deployment is expected to enhance energy reliability and operational efficiency at both sites, while contributing to India’s broader goals of sustainability and energy security, the company added.
Headquartered in Gurugram, Pratap Technocrats is a telecom infrastructure provider that has recently expanded its presence in the public infrastructure space. The company has also secured three middle-mile network packages under the government’s BharatNet Phase 3 programme across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Assam.
