State-owned engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has announced the receipt of a ₹22.87 crore order from Indian Railways for the supply and installation of the KAVACH automatic train protection system.
According to a regulatory filing, the contract was awarded by South Western Railway on September 11, 2025.
The project scope includes the design, development, supply, installation, trial, and commissioning of on-board KAVACH equipment in locomotives, as well as trackside installations at stations, level crossings, intermediate block signals, and automatic block signaling locations.
