Bharat Forge's Defence Push: Agneyastra Acquires 950 Acres

Agneyastra Energetics, a step-down subsidiary of Bharat Forge, has signed a land acquisition agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for approximately 949.65 acres in Madakasira, Anantapur district.

The strategic land acquisition will pave the way for the development of a cutting-edge Defence Energetics Manufacturing Complex, aimed at strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities. The proposed facility will house:

A High Explosives Manufacturing Plant, An Ammunition Filling Unit, A Gun Propellant Production Facility

Additionally, the site will be equipped with infrastructure to support future expansion into advanced energetics, with applications across rockets, missile systems, space launch vehicles, and other defence-related programs.

Bharat Forge stated that this initiative represents a key milestone in supporting the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, promoting self-reliance in the defence sector. The upcoming facility is expected to enhance domestic production, reduce import dependency, and generate employment and technological advancement in Andhra Pradesh.
