Atmanirbhar Atoms: NPCIL & ECIL Sign Landmark Nuclear Tech MoU

Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and Electronics Corporation of India  (ECIL) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term technology partnership aimed at strengthening India’s nuclear power programme.

The collaboration between the two Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) organisations will focus on jointly developing indigenous technologies for existing and upcoming nuclear reactors, supporting technological self-reliance. The partnership will cover the development of advanced control and instrumentation (C&I) systems, computer-based systems, nuclear instrumentation, training simulators, cybersecurity solutions, and other critical technologies required for nuclear power plants. It will also provide lifecycle support for operating reactors, address technology obsolescence challenges, and enhance standardisation of essential systems across India’s nuclear fleet.

By enabling wider deployment of locally developed solutions across current and future nuclear projects, NPCIL and ECIL aim to create a stronger technology ecosystem for the sector.
