AP's Green Revolution: Brookfield Invests $12 Billion

Brookfield Asset Management has announced plans to invest USD 12 billion in Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy sector over the next three years — marking the largest clean energy commitment by a global investor in India.

The investment will focus on renewable power generation, green hydrogen production, and integrated manufacturing. Brookfield aims to collaborate with local and international partners to develop large-scale solar and wind projects, enhance green hydrogen capacity, and strengthen India’s clean energy supply chain. The initiative reflects strong investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s policy stability, infrastructure, and renewable energy potential.

In addition to clean energy, Brookfield is exploring opportunities in real estate and hospitality, including plans for a satellite township near Visakhapatnam and the development of new Leela hotels. These projects are part of the company’s broader strategy to integrate infrastructure, energy, and urban development in India’s rapidly growing regions.
