APMRC Launches ₹6,250 Crore Tender for Vizag Metro's Phase 1

The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (APMRC) has launched the tendering process for Phase 1 of the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project, inviting bids for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) works worth ₹6,250 crore.

The scope covers a 46.23 km viaduct across three corridors, including a distinctive 20.16 km Double Decker 4-Lane Flyover cum Metro Viaduct and 42 elevated stations. The bid submission deadline is August 11, 2026.

This move follows the Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet’s approval to fund 40% of the project cost, with the remaining to be shared equally under a 50:50 Joint Venture model. The overall cost of Phase 1 is estimated at ₹11,498 crore.

The tender issuance marks a critical milestone in delivering Visakhapatnam’s long-awaited metro system, aimed at enhancing urban mobility and infrastructure in the city.
