AP Powers Up: 29 New Substations Fueling Industrial Boom

Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has announced that the state is undertaking advanced planning and infrastructure development to meet rising industrial electricity demand.

The government plans to construct 29 new substations to strengthen the grid and ensure a reliable power supply. “Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a preferred destination for large-scale industries, and with rapid industrialization, the power sector must focus on proactive planning and enhancement of power infrastructure,” the Minister stated.

With industrial growth accelerating through new industries and expanding industrial corridors, electricity consumption has surged. Minister Kumar highlighted the importance of preparing for future load demands while maintaining 24/7 quality power for households and agricultural users. He also directed utilities to submit bi-weekly progress reports on transmission and distribution projects to enable real-time monitoring.
