Andhra's New AI Hub: Engineering Tomorrow in Atmakur

A new government engineering college affiliated with Vikrama Simhapuri University is set to be established in Atmakur, Nellore district, and will begin operations from the 2025–26 academic year.

This will be Andhra Pradesh’s second government engineering institution to offer specialized B.Tech programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Science, following the college launched in Kuppam.

While the permanent 15-acre campus in Atmakur is under construction and expected to be completed within two years, the college will initially function out of the VR Institute of Post Graduate Services (VRIPS) in Nellore.

The institution will operate on a self-financing model, utilizing internal resources and donor contributions, ensuring no financial burden on the state government.

The college will offer B.Tech programs in:

Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, AI & Machine Learning, AI & Data Science

Each program will have an intake of 60 students. The institution has already been included in the 2025–26 web counseling process, allowing prospective students to apply in the upcoming admissions cycle.
