Airport City to Industrial Hub: AP Cabinet's Vision for a New Andhra

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved several major proposals aimed at boosting infrastructure, industrial growth, and employment. Among the highlights is the restoration of 500 acres to the developer of Bhogapuram Greenfield International Airport (GVIAL) for city-side development, intended to accelerate the airport’s progress and surrounding infrastructure.

Other key decisions include the allocation of 615 acres in Muttukuru to APIIC for an industrial park, land approval for Adani Power’s 500 MW project in Tadimarri, and a 1,000 MW pumped storage project in Kondapuram, priced at ₹5 lakh per acre. The Cabinet also approved the recruitment of 2,260 Special Education Teachers to promote inclusive education.

Further, the Cabinet sanctioned the relocation of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University from Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh and approved a new Legal University in Amaravati. Investment proposals totaling ₹30,000 crore were cleared, including ₹9,246 crore from firms such as Deccan Fine Chemicals, Bharat Electronics, PUR Energy, Blue Jet Healthcare, and Jupiter Renewables—expected to create over 35,000 jobs.

These initiatives underscore the state’s focus on infrastructure development, educational advancement, industrialization, and large-scale job creation.
