A New Era of Energy for Tirumala: TTD's Strategic Fuel Initiatives

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has commenced the construction of a dedicated LPG gas storage facility in Tirumala to ensure long-term fuel security for its operations.

On July 16, 2025, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu laid the foundation stone for the project, which is being jointly developed with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL). The facility, strategically located along the Outer Ring Road in Tirumala, will have a storage capacity of 45 metric tonnes and is being built over 1.86 acres at an estimated cost of ₹8.13 crore. Completion is targeted within six months. IOCL, a trusted supplier to TTD for the past two decades, has signed a new 30-year agreement to provide uninterrupted LPG supply.

Additionally, IOCL is constructing a bio-gas plant near the Tirumala dumping yard at a cost of ₹12.05 crore. The facility will process 40 tonnes of wet waste daily and is expected to generate approximately 1,000 kg of bio-gas per day, contributing to TTD's sustainability and waste management goals.

These projects mark a significant step toward enhancing Tirumala’s energy infrastructure while promoting environmentally conscious practices.
