Powering Up: NGEL Unlocks 288+ MW Solar in Khavda

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the successful commissioning and commencement of commercial operations for over 288 MW of solar power capacity in Khavda, Gujarat, effective June 28, 2025.

The first commissioned asset includes 142.2 MW from the 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project, part of the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V Project. This project has been developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL.

Simultaneously, 146.7 MW of capacity from the larger 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project has also entered commercial operation. This project is being implemented under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III, also by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.

These new capacities reinforce NTPC’s ongoing commitment to expanding India’s renewable energy portfolio and advancing national goals for clean and sustainable energy.
