In a move toward sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure, a 54 kW solar power plant was inaugurated at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (PDUNIPPD) in New Delhi.
Implemented under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) in collaboration with Legrand India, the project underscores the government's commitment to renewable energy. The installation was inaugurated by Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, DEPwD, who emphasized its dual impact on environmental sustainability and cost-efficiency.
“This solar power plant reflects our collective commitment to environmental sustainability. It will not only meet the institute’s energy needs but also prove economically beneficial,” he said.
The initiative supports energy self-reliance and aligns with the Government of India’s clean energy mission, helping to reduce the institute’s carbon footprint and operational energy costs.
