KPI Green Energy: 240MW Solar Power, Now Streaming!

KPI Green Energy has begun supplying power from its 200-MWac/240-MWdc solar farm in Gujarat after successfully synchronising the project with the state grid.

The project was awarded to KPI by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) through a competitive bidding process and is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), ensuring fixed tariff revenues. The initial power injection marks the commissioning of one of the first solar projects at the 1.8-GW GSECL Solar Park in Khavda.

The Khavda site offers strong advantages for large-scale solar development, including high solar irradiation of around 2,060 kWh per square metre annually and more than 300 sunny days each year. In addition, the area’s flat terrain, proximity to grid infrastructure, and supportive state renewable energy policies have contributed significantly to the project’s successful execution.

KPI expects the solar farm to generate stable revenues, strengthening its independent power producer portfolio while supporting Gujarat’s renewable energy targets.
