Ecoren & GPSR Arya Invest ₹29,000 Crore in Telangana's Green Energy Push

Telangana has secured investments worth ₹29,000 crore from Ecoren Energy India and GPSR Arya under the newly launched Telangana Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025. The agreements, formalized through MoUs with the Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO), were signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

Ecoren Energy will invest ₹27,000 crore in wind and solar power projects across the state. Key initiatives include:

A 3,279 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Sangareddy and Narayanpet

A 1,650 MWp floating solar project in Jayashankar Bhupalpally

A 650 MWp ground-mounted solar project in Jogulamba Gadwal

These projects are expected to cut approximately 400 million tonnes of carbon emissions over 25 years and generate over 16,200 local jobs.

GPSR Arya, in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), will invest ₹2,000 crore to set up 15 compressed biogas (CBG) plants (15 TPD each) across 15 districts including Medak, Karimnagar, and Nalgonda. Using agro waste and napier grass—especially 7.5 lakh tonnes of surplus paddy straw annually—the initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 17.24 tonnes annually and create around 3,000 direct jobs.

The biogas produced will support the city gas distribution (CGD) network, with supply routed through operators like Torrent Gas, IOC, Megha Gas, and Maharashtra Natural Gas.
