Uttar Pradesh Excise Department Secures Massive ₹39,582 Crore Investment

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Excise and Prohibition, Nitin Agarwal, announced that the state’s excise department has signed 138 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) totaling Rs 39,582.39 crore. Of these, 45 projects worth Rs 7,538.73 crore are ready to move forward and will be featured in an upcoming groundbreaking ceremony.

The announcement was made during a departmental meeting held on April 16, 2025, at Vidhan Bhawan. The meeting was chaired by Minister Agarwal and attended by key officials, including Principal Secretary (Excise) Veena Kumari and Excise Commissioner Dr. Adarsh Singh.

The Minister directed officials to maintain close coordination with investors to expedite the setup of the remaining projects and bring them under the department’s operational framework. He emphasized that these initiatives will significantly boost investment in the state and create substantial employment opportunities.

Additionally, he urged outreach to major alcohol companies to encourage them to set up manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh, pointing to the new excise policy provisions designed to promote investment and increase exports.
