LDA Green Signal: 7 km Link to Ease North Lucknow Traffic

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) plans to propose a 7 km road on 5 December 2025, designed to connect the Green Corridor near IIM Road with the Outer Ring Road (Kisan Path).

The new link will offer commuters a faster and smoother route while improving access to emerging township zones, especially in Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT). According to officials, the road is expected to cut travel time, reduce pressure on internal roads, and accelerate the development of the Naimish Nagar township. In the project’s second phase, the corridor will be extended by an additional 3 km, directly integrating it with the Naimish Nagar scheme.

The extension is intended to enhance connectivity between northern localities and expanding suburban regions without overloading central city roads. Residents of areas such as Vasant Kunj will gain quicker access to Kisan Path, avoiding the usual congestion on internal routes. Overall, the project forms a crucial part of the broader Green Corridor initiative, which aims to establish a signal-free North–South transit route.
