HFCL has raised its planned capital expenditure to approximately ₹1,800 crore to expand its optical fibre and telecom equipment manufacturing capacity.
The company’s board has approved an additional ₹820 crore investment, which will add annual optical fibre capacity of 46 lakh fibre kilometres, along with additional optical fibre cable (OFC) and preform capacity. The latest investment will be combined with the previously approved ₹980 crore capex programme.
The expansion will be funded through internal accruals and borrowings from financial institutions, supporting HFCL’s manufacturing scale-up and India’s growing digital infrastructure requirements.
Strategic Objective: The initiative is designed to bolster domestic telecom manufacturing and meet India's surging digital infrastructure demands.
