Reliance Industries (RIL) is on track to commission the first phase of its 40 GWh battery and cell gigafactory this year, a pivotal step in its clean energy transition. Speaking at the company’s 49th Annual General Meeting, Director Anant Ambani confirmed that all critical equipment has been delivered, ensuring the project remains on schedule. The facility is part of the 5,000-acre Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat—an integrated ecosystem that has already produced nearly 1 GW of heterojunction (HJT) solar modules, with plans to scale annual capacity to 120 GWh. Additionally, Reliance has secured Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) certification for its HJT technology, making it the first Indian enterprise to receive this recognition for advanced solar manufacturing and solidifying its position as a future global leader in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
