PMAY in J&K: Rs 544 Crore Released as Thousands Get New Homes

Jammu and Kashmir is making steady strides in urban housing, with 45,982 homes sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0) since the scheme began. Highlighting these updates in Parliament, Minister of State Tokhan Sahu noted that 35,961 families have already received their completed homes, while construction is well underway for thousands more. With the Centre releasing Rs 544.40 crore out of a total approved assistance of Rs 734.44 crore, housing development continues to scale up across the Union Territory—with Jammu district leading the deployment.
