Solex Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop an integrated renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem, with a proposed investment of around ₹4,000 crore.
Under the agreement, the company will set up a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in two phases—2 GW in the first phase and 3 GW in the second. It also plans to establish a 10 GW battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing unit, marking its expansion across both solar and energy storage segments.
The initiative is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, reduce reliance on imports, and support India’s push for self-reliance in renewable technologies. The integrated ecosystem will further contribute to the development of a robust clean energy supply chain and industrial growth in Gujarat.
Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah said the project will bolster India’s renewable manufacturing base and support long-term energy transition goals through advanced solar and storage solutions.
