Aster DM Healthcare Limited announced on May 6, 2025, that it has signed a 30-year lease agreement for a property on Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka, where it plans to develop a new multi-specialty hospital. This strategic move marks a significant expansion of the company’s presence in South-East Bangalore.
The planned facility will offer approximately 430 beds, to be developed in two phases—300 beds by FY2027 and an additional 130 beds by FY2029. Aster DM Healthcare has earmarked an investment of ₹480 crore for the project, which will be financed through a mix of bank loans and internal accruals.
Under the lease terms, there is a 30-year lock-in for the lessor and a 12-year lock-in for Aster DM Healthcare, starting from the lease commencement date. The company will pay rent based on the chargeable area per square foot, along with applicable taxes, and has provided an interest-free, refundable security deposit of ₹58.65 crore.
The company emphasized the strategic importance of the new hospital, citing the area's rapid urbanization, growing middle class, and emergence as a major IT hub. Positioned to offer advanced cancer care and other specialty services, the hospital is expected to address the region’s increasing demand for high-quality healthcare.
