Marking a major infrastructure milestone for Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav officially inaugurated the ₹2,387 crore Narmada-Mahi Link Irrigation Project on October 24, 2026.
The transformative initiative is set to supply essential water for agriculture, drinking, and industrial needs to 260 villages—specifically 66 in Dhar district and 194 in Jhabua district. Covering more than 57,000 hectares of cultivable land, the project promises to uplift approximately 70,000 farmers by raising crop productivity and securing rural water stability.
Alongside the launch, local community representatives presented key demands to state leadership, requesting comprehensive surveys to integrate unlisted villages into the project network, improved water routing from the Mahi Dam to Kalikrai, and drought assistance for Dhar district in light of recent rainfall deficits.
