Vadhavan Port Highway: Land Compensation Payouts Begin

The process of distributing land acquisition compensation for the Vadhavan Port Greenfield Highway Project has commenced, officials recently announced.

A review meeting on the process was chaired by District Collector Dr. Indu Rani Jakhar, who stated that compensation amounts will be directly credited to the bank accounts of landowners. Beneficiaries have been asked to submit updated 7/12 extracts and mutation records to facilitate timely disbursement.

In cases where mutation entries are pending, village revenue officials have been directed to expedite the process. To further streamline documentation and support landowners, special camps will be organised at Talathi and Gram Panchayat offices.

The Collector advised landowners to use the compensation prudently, recommending safer investment options such as purchasing land, bank fixed deposits, or post office savings schemes. She also warned against cyber fraud, urging beneficiaries not to share OTPs or sensitive banking details. Banks and local police have been instructed to run awareness campaigns to mitigate such risks.

Additionally, landowners have been urged to avoid intermediaries such as agents or brokers and instead directly approach the Competent Authority or Talathi offices for all compensation-related procedures.
